McDonald’s heats up in the chicken sandwich wars.
The surprise hit of the summer of 2019 is the new Popeye Chicken Sandwich, which is so popular with fans that it’s out of stock. Other fast-food chains responded by reminding customers of their existing sandwiches or introducing new chicken offerings.
McDonald’s can now be added to this list not only by announcing a new spicy chicken sandwich but also by offering spicy chicken.
McDonald’s confirmed to Fox News that the new articles will be available for a limited time starting September 11. According to McDonald’s, the two items have been tested in different restaurants since the beginning of the year.
The innovative menu
While the new products appear to be a reaction to Popeye’s popular chicken sandwich, McDonald’s has been reported to add spicy chicken dishes in late June. At this point, McDonald’s confirmed that the new items were planned for mid-September, but did not provide specific details on the menu items.
McDonald’s has released details about additions to the Fox News menu. They described the tender and spicy barbecue chicken as “(their) crispy tender whey, perfectly breaded and breaded, hand-tossed and cooked-to-order on our delicious new spicy barbecue cover with just a touch of jalapeño.”
The spicy barbecue chicken sandwich is described as a “classic butter steak made from pure white meat,” served on a sesame bun with onion, cucumber, and the same spicy, medium-sweet and spicy, frozen fire.
